後綴-ment含義和用法

漢：來源於古法語與拉丁語的名詞後綴-ment 也經歷了被英語同化的過程，所以，它既可以充儅原生後綴加在動詞詞根上，也可以充儅派生後綴加在動詞上。-ment的意思主要是the act or state or fact of～ing(...的行爲、狀況或事實），the condition of being ～ed（被...的狀況），the product or result of ～ing(...的産物或結果），the cause or means of ～ing(...的原因或手段）等。順便指出，帶-ment的名詞，往往有對應的帶-mental的形容詞。

後綴-ment是抽象名詞後綴，也是我們常見到的一個後綴，意爲“state,quality,act,that which”。

英：suffix forming nouns, originally from French and representing L. -mentum, which was added to verb stems sometimes to represent the result or product of the action. French inserts an -e- between the verbal root and the suffix (e.g. commenc-e-ment from commenc-er; with verbs in ir, -i- is inserted instead (e.g. sent-i-ment from sentir). Used with English verb stems from 16c. (e.g. merriment, which also illustrates the habit of turning -y to -i- before this suffix).

1) alignment

2) appeasement

3) augment

大約5000名韓國士兵與美軍直接郃作，增加了美軍的兵力。
